Key Responsibilities:

1. General

  • Monitor daily operations within the R&D Department.
  • Establish and maintain quality standards for product development.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, Halal, FSSC, HACCP and other regulatory requirements.

2. Project Planning

  • Assess project cope and ensure timely completion within budget.
  • Analyse and clarify requirements with customers or business teams.
  • Understand customer expectations for new product development.
  • Develop and maintain procedures for evaluating raw materials, in-process and finished products.
  • Prepare monthly R&D reports to track progress and performance.

3. Costing & Quotation

  • Conduct cost analysis for new and existing product development.
  • Prepare and issue quotations based on customer requirements.
  • Finalize costing and quotations upon formulation approval.
  • Prepare final costing reports and monitor R&D expenses.

4. Raw Material Sourcing & Purchasing

  • Source and ensure availability of raw materials for development and production.
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding material suitability and application.
  • Maintain updated supplier documentation and vendor records.

5. Research & Development

  • Conduct research, design and evaluation of materials and processes.
  • Develop formulations and prototypes.
  • Improve existing products and explore new product opportunities.
  • Conduct product trials and sensory evaluations with customers.
  • Perform stability testing and ensure product quality before mass production.

6. Documentation

  • Maintain records of COA and Halal certificates from suppliers.
  • Prepare Batch Manufacturing for regulatory submission.
  • Develop Finished Product Specifications for submission.
  • Support regulatory documentation and compliance processes.
  • Prepare reports for all R&D activities.

7. Networking

  • Participate in industry expos, fairs and conferences.

8. Audit Management

  • Act as Internal Audit Lead/Auditor.
  • Support internal audit processes and compliance activities.

9. Product Complaint Management

  • Investigate product complaints related to quality.
  • Assist in corrective actions and product improvement.

10. Reporting & Meetings

  • Prepare weekly reports on tasks and progress.
  • Attend weekly HOD meetings for updates and planning.

11. Others

  • Perform any additional tasks assigned by management as required.
