Job Summary:

Assists in the day-to-day operations of the laboratory with regard to histology specimen processing. Processes and prepares tissue specimens according to laboratory procedures using a wide range and depth of technical and specialized knowledge. Participates in laboratory operations as needed. Supports continuous improvement of laboratory services to ensure high quality and timely pathology for quality diagnosis.

Job Responsibilities:

• Receive and prepare tissue specimens for routine procedures and pathologist review
• Perform histological procedures such as accessioning, tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, staining and scanning
• Maintain accurate tissue and slide records
• Clean and maintain instruments and work areas
• Establish work policies for universal precautions and safety

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical science or Health sciences
• Able to drive and own transport
• Able to travel outstation
• Able to speak and write in English and Malay
