JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities:

1. Manage the oil palm seed germination for the purpose of seed production and oil palm breeding.
2. Manage, plan, and monitor daily production activities, including seed storage, heat treatment, seed sorting, packaging and delivery, etc.
3. Perform quality check on the product regularly to ensure the conformity of the product.
4. Provide guidance and support to the staffs and workers on the routine activities.
5. Inspect the quality of the raw materials are appropriate for production.
6. Ensure the integrity of the data.
7. Monthly reporting to Head of Unit on the production progress.
8. Manage and communicate with internal and external customers on the supply of germinated seeds.
9. Sales and marketing of product (germinated DxP seeds).
10. Ensure compliance to SIRIM MS157:2017 standard.
11. Ensure compliance to ISO9001:2015 requirement.
12. Ensure compliance to OSHA for the safety and health of working environment.
13. Periodically review on the applicability of the procedural documentation on seed germination activities, and propose for the amendment.
14. Assume the responsibilities of other scientific executives in their absence.

Requirements

1. Candidate must possess at least a Diploma/ Bachelor’s Degree in Science or equivalent.
2. Junior entry: graduated from relevant discipline.
3. Senior entry: minimum 3 years of working experience in research environment preferably in Oil Palm Breeding and Seed Production or Oil Palm Agronomy Research.
4. Knowledge in conducting experiments and trials.
5. Knowledge in experimental design and statistical analysis.
6. Good command of English & Bahasa Malaysia.
7. Strong analytical skills and attention to details.
8. Results oriented and strong leadership.
