Lab Technician

This is the personnel implementing the assigned daily operation jobs in the lab. The technician is trained to be a specialist in the assigned job scope.

i) Lab Technician (medium preparation)

Job Scope:

1)      Carry out the assigned daily lab works by following the SOP.

2)      Prepare the water, culture medium, stock solutions and reagents required for the lab usage.

3)      Sterilize the containers used in medium preparation.

4)      Update the chemicals & reagents consumption in lab and report to the supervisor for refill.

5)      Take care of the lab cleanliness, including working area, lab apparatus, containers, etc in medium preparation area.

6)      Assist the lab supervisor to receive the new ordered lab items (stock in).

 

ii) Lab Technician (explants propagation)

Job Scope:

1)      Carry out the assigned daily lab works by following the SOP.

2)      Subculture the explants in lab for multiplication and rooting. Make sure the explants are in sterile condition (free of contamination).

3)      Implement the observation onto explants development and record the own daily production. Update to the lab supervisor for the progress.

4)      Take care of the lab cleanliness, including working area, lab apparatus, etc in dissecting and culture growth rooms.

5)      Assist the lab supervisor to send out the plantlets to nursery (stock out).

 

 

iii) Lab Technician (QC & supportive)

Job Scope:

1)      Inspect the condition of explants to make sure they are clean.

2)      Record the number of explants (clean, contaminated, dead, etc) produced by the production team members.

3)      Assist the lab supervisor to fine tune lab operation.

4)      Assist the lab supervisor to receive the stock explants from HQ lab (stock in) and deliver the plantlets to nursery (stock out).

5)      Prepare the weekly/monthly quality control report to lab supervisor/ project manager.
